How Does Invisaligns Work?
Invisalign® manufacture you a series of clear, removable, SmartTrack aligners. Each moves your teeth a few millimetres and is worn for 7-14 days. You progress through the series at home and visit us every 4-6 weeks to monitor your alignment and to collect further aligners.
What are The Advantages?
A huge advantage to Invisalign® braces is that you can take the aligners out. (For eating, drinking, brushing your teeth and important occasions.) This means you can still enjoy tea, coffee and red wine! Without fear of staining your brace or changing your oral hygiene regime. They’re almost invisible, they’re comfortable and they’re efficient.
Who is Right For Invisalign?
Almost everyone! Including kids and teenagers. Invisalign technology has dramatically improved since it’s early days and can even correct the most complicated of malalignments.

You have to be honest, and be committed to wearing the aligners for 22 hours a day! But, if you’re unsure then ask us about wear indicators. They can be added to the very back of the aligners to monitor the hours of wear and to keep you accountable.

Treatment Steps
Orthodontic Consultation & Free Itero Scan
The iTero Scan captures 100’s of images per second to generate a digital image of your teeth and the Outcome Simulator instantly predicts the results you could achieve and you meet with one of our orthodontists for accurate measurements and assessment of your teeth to confirm your suitability for treatment.
Records & Investigation
If you are a suitable Invisalign® candidate, we take clinical photos and collect other information about your teeth. We then send off all of your data to Invisalign® who produce use special 3D technology to create a personalised plan, called a ClinCheck, which shows exactly how your teeth will move, how many aligners you will need and also how they will look after treatment.
Clincheck
We invite you back to discuss your ClinCheck, to make sure you’re happy with the prediction and to make any changes if you’re not. We can always send it to you via email and have a telephone call instead, to save you a trip in. But of course, we’d love to see you!
Aligenr Fit
When the aligners are ready, you will wear a different one every two weeks until the carefully controlled force shifts your teeth to a better position. You may feel minor discomfort when a new aligner is fitted but this is usually just a feeling of pressure and a good indicator that the treatment is working.
Treatment times will vary depending on your individual issue, but most cases are completed in 6-12 months. As the aligners only work while you are actually wearing them, we recommend they are kept in place for a minimum of 22 hours per day.
